LEAGUE PLAYOFFS

League Playoffs is an Area O competition that brings the top league teams from Visalia, Coalinga, Cutler-Orosi, Hanford and Tulare together for a tournament that lasts two days.

November 23-24, 2019

Location: Elk Bayou Soccer Complex - 5700 South Laspina, Tulare, CA 93274

TEAM SELECTION

Teams are selected based upon standings in each Region’s core program in divisions 10U through 14U. The number of teams is decided by agreement between the Region and Area O. Typically, Tulare sends 1-2 teams each in 14U boys and girls, 1-2 teams each in 12U boys and girls, and 2-3 teams each in 10U boys and girls. These numbers are subject to change! If two or more teams are tied for the last spot, we typically hold elimination matches where the winners qualify (weather permitting).

To Coach in League Playoffs, Head and Assistant Coaches must meet the following minimum requirements:

Must have the minimum coaching certification required for that age division; and
Must have a current Volunteer Form on file and have completed Safe Haven and concussion certification in the previous two (2) years.

Commitment

League playoffs are typically held the 2nd and 3rd weekend of November. On the first Saturday, 10U - 14U teams will play 2 games in pool play at Riverway Sports Park, Visalia, CA. On the following Sunday a third game will be played and only the qualifying teams from all divisions, typically the pool winners, will play final games. (How many games played per day subject to change upon schedule.)

If teams make the championship game, they may receive an invitation to the Section 10 Playoffs in Bakersfield on the third weekend of February. Two teams per age/gender group are typically invited from Area O.

Practices during the time frame between end of league season and League playoffs are at the coach’s discretion, but will not exceed the allowed practice schedule (max. two 1.5-hour practices per week).

COST

There is no cost to the families associated with the tournament play (Region 255 Tulare AYSO pays the costs associated with tournament, typically around $500 per team.) Travel costs are paid by the families should the team qualify for Section.
